Approved Face Masks for the 2020-2021 School Year
August 26, 2020
NPSB has announced the acceptable face coverings for the upcoming school year.
NPSB highly recommends masks as the most effective facial covering for students and faculty. However, many questions have been asked about whether or not “neck gaiters” would be an alternative for masks. According to the CDC, it has yet to be proven if neck gaiters provide any benefit as source control to protect individuals from the spread of respiratory particles.
With guidance from the LDOE, as well as the CDC, NPSB will not allow neck gaiters on school property for the 2020-2021 school year. Neck gaiters may only be used by a student or faculty member until an appropriate face covering can be secured.
