Welcome to Natchitoches Parish School Board's Department of Teaching and Learning!

Here in Natchitoches Parish Schools, our teachers are what make the difference. Our department is committed to equipping and empowering our educators with the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources needed to be successful in and out of the classroom.

Through our persistent pursuit of progress, together we can develop college and career ready students. We are dedicated to the success of ALL through a robust curriculum and quality instruction that connects to students’ lives and their futures. It is our pledge to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment in an effort to achieve equity for ALL.

Spring 2025 Proficiency Exam Dates

K-8th Grade and Yearlong Jr. High/High School Courses

  • Proficiency Exam 3: March 3-12, 2025

    • Teacher Reflection Meetings: The following week during cluster meetings

  • Proficiency Exam 4: May 12-21, 2025

    • Teacher Reflection Meetings: May 22-23, 2025

    • Proficiency exam 4 is not required for Grades 3-8 and High School LEAP 2025 courses.  For High School LEAP courses, LEAP scores will count as the final exam.  A Proficiency Exam 4 will count as the final exam for High School non-LEAP courses.  

    • High School Civics student will need to complete a Proficiency Exam 4 due to Civics LEAP scores not being released prior to end of the course. 

High School Block Courses

  • Proficiency Exam 2: March 3-11, 2025

  • Proficiency Exam 4: May 15-21, 2025

    • Teacher Reflection Meetings: May 22-23, 2025 (Update Goal Trackers)
