Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Registration

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library supplies books to children from birth to five years old. Books are mailed to their homes monthly. Available in 71064, 71103, 71106, 71109, 71111, 71112 zip codes and all of Natchitoches Parish.

All children who participate in the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) must be checked in and out each day using the TOTS machine. Payments to the child care providers are based on the attendance data. Once CCAP is approved, guardians MUST visit Early Childhood Education and Development office and complete the required finger scan initial imaging process. The required process will take between 15-25 minutes,

Natchitoches Parish Pre-K programs are designed to prepare children for school by offering a range of experiences based on early learning standards. They offer a balance of activities, including active and quiet times, large and small group activities, center times, indoor and outdoor play times, and child-initiated and teacher-directed activities.Natchitoches Parish Early Childhood Care and Education programs are designed to prepare children for school by offering a range of experiences based on Louisiana Early Learning Development Standards.  They offer a balance of activities, including active and quiet times, large and small group activities, center times, indoor and outdoor play times, and child-initiated and teacher-directed activities.

Public School Pre-K Programs
Participants must be four years old before September 30th.
L.P. Vaughn Early Learning Center provides services to two and three year olds.

Head Start Programs
Students must be three years old in order to attend

Childcare Centers
Centers serve children 0 – 12 yrs of age

Public School Pre-K and Head Start Programs                                                                                            
Participants may attend at No cost to families. Breakfast and lunch charges may apply if a student does not qualify for free or reduces meals.

Public School Pre-K Programs
Transportation is provided for all public school students who are enrolled in their correct school zone.

Families must provide transportation to students who attend Head Start programs.

Public School Pre-K and Head Start Programs
These programs operate Monday through Friday (a minimum of 7 hours per day) and run the length of the school year.

Public School Pre-K Programs
The classroom maximum is 20 children. The adult to student ratio minimum is no more than 1:10. Each classroom has at least one teacher and one instructional assistant.

Head Start Programs and Childcare Centers

*Classroom ratios may be lower for children with special needs.

Public School Pre-K Programs
1.    A student must attend the school located in the school zone of his/her residence.
2.    School attendance outside the school zone of legal residence shall require the approval of the Superintendent or authorized personnel.
3.    The Board of Education is obligated to provide student transportation only to the assigned school in the zone of legal residence.
4.    Students with disabilities who have an IEP shall attend school as part of a placement decision made by members of the student’s IEP team.
