NATCHITOCHES, LOUISIANA – The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) released LEAP results for the 2022-2023 school year on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. For the second consecutive year, Natchitoches Parish Schools was recognized as one of the top ten school districts in student proficiency growth in the state of Louisiana.
Natchitoches Parish Schools is one of only five districts in Louisiana to be recognized as top ten two years in a row. The district showed growth of three points in student improvement over the 2021-2022 school year.
“We are very excited to be in the top 10 parishes for proficiency growth for the 2nd year in a row,” said NPSB Superintendent Dr. Grant Eloi. “Something only 5 districts in the entire state can boast.”
Overall LEAP Scores, which outperformed the state average, can be seen in many of our subject areas in NPSB Schools. For example, our fourth grade science achievement surpassed the state by 5%. Seventh grade ELA surpassed the state by 10%. In NPSB high schools, geometry achievement outperformed the state by 16%.
LEAP results for the 2022-23 school year are now available on the LDOE website.
“Our teachers and students worked very hard this past year and we are proud of all their hard work.” said Dr. Eloi. “We recognize we must continue working hard in order to reach the performance levels that our community and students deserve, but we should take this time to celebrate our district’s continued progress!”
NPSB’s full school performance score (SPS) data will not be available until late November.
