After turning in portfolios and going through an interview process, three finalists were chosen as the 2023-2024 NPSB Student of the Year on November 16, 2023. The winners of the 2023-2024 NPSB Student of the Year are Rachel Key for 5th Grade, Jasmyn Carpenter for 8th Grade, and Molly Coleman for 12th Grade.
A committee of community members interviewed each student. The committee included Katrice Below, Dennis Breland, Carmella McCart, Sarah Mallette, Annie Oliphant, Linda Page, Dewayne Chelette and Corey Poole. The Student of the Year competition is organized by Anita Dubois.
Students received a goodie bag, presented by Dewayne Chelette on behalf of Vaughn Chevrolet Buick in Natchitoches and free books from the Natchitoches Parish School District. Committee members were treated to lunch and snacks thanks to BOM.
