NATCHITOCHES, LOUISIANA – The Natchitoches Parish School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Antavious Roberson as the new interim principal of Natchitoches Magnet School, effective Monday, August 19, 2024.
Roberson, a native of Bienville Parish, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of educational leadership to his new role. He began his teaching career in Bienville Parish, quickly distinguishing himself as an exceptional classroom leader. His commitment to student achievement was recognized with a “Teacher of the Year” award in 2020.
With a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s in Educational Leadership, both from Northwestern State University, Roberson possesses a strong academic foundation. In 2022, he transitioned to Natchitoches Parish to serve as Assistant Principal of Instruction at L.P. Vaughn Elementary School.
"I am thrilled to return to Natchitoches Magnet School, where my passion for education was ignited," said Roberson. "This school holds a special place in my heart, as it is where I began my career as a resident teacher. I am excited to work collaboratively with our dedicated staff, students, and community to create a thriving learning environment. Together, we will reach new heights and inspire future generations."
Antavious Roberson succeeds Stephonie French, who has chosen to return to the classroom as an educator. Her decision to step down from the principalship to re-engage with classroom teaching is a testament to her deep-rooted passion for education and her desire to directly influence student learning and growth.
“Mrs. French has been an exceptional leader throughout her years as principal,” said NPSB Superintendent Dr. Eloi. “We respect her decision to return to the classroom, where she can continue to inspire and make a difference in the lives of our students. With that being said, we are excited to see where Mr. Roberson takes Natchitoches Magnet this school year!”
