This morning our 2nd grade Cubs had a special guest speaker share his personal experience of attending a tent school. In the first nine weeks of school, 2nd graders learned about tent schools, boat school, and door step schools in the unit “schools around the world”.
Today, they were visited by Emerson Rodrigue, a NSU Cheerleader from Haiti. Emerson shared his story and experience of attending a tent school after his school was destroyed as a result of the catastrophic earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010.
Thank you Emerson for sharing your story with our Cubs! They loved listening to you and asking questions about tent schools!
